A few different news gossip outlets today are reporting rumors that Sarah Palin might appear on Saturday Night Live.
Some key McCain staffers are content with Palin joking about the “SNL” routines on the campaign trail — as when she scribbled “I’m not Tina Fey” on a supporter’s cell phone [Editor's note: I have no idea what that means] and said she’d dressed as Fey on Halloween. But others — including the governor herself — think a return punch on the NBC airwaves is what’s needed.
I’m hearing some sort of Palin tweak of Fey’s American Express commercials is in the works.
While next weekend’s ”Saturday Night Live” will be a rerun, it is possible Palin could appear Thursday on the first of NBC’s ”Weekend Update” specials in prime time. [Chicago Sun-Times]
On one hand, it’s always awkward as hell when a politician shows up to pretend they like SNL’s impression of them, especially when it’s clearly motivated by dislike. On the other, the writer calling it a “Palin tweak of Fey” makes it sound pretty sexy. It’s almost as if he purposely used nipular language to get us all a titter. EEEP!!

To make herself look like an everyday kind of mom, Palin has decided that when she visits SNL, she’ll be wearing her pair of Bad Idea Jeans.

If they could somehow convince Timberlake to make a cameo, he and Fey could do one hell of a skit of Palin and her husband. Say what you want, but I think Timberlake is a pretty good host. He’s not Alec Baldwin or Christopher Walken, but compared to most of the dipshits they get, he usually delivers.

Palin’s spokesperson said Sarah would probably not go on SNL, because video cameras will steal your soul if you don’t have your pastor cast his witchcraft prayers.
Palin would play perfectly to SNL’s audience, people who hold out hope that things are soon going to be as good as they were a decade ago.
