Eddie Murphy is back for Beverly Hills Cop 4, with BRETT RATNER in final talks to direct. 

    Murphy approached the studio about reviving the franchise that cemented his status as a B.O. mega-star. Par brass were eager to land another picture with Murphy after he finished the Karey Kirkpatrick-directed "NowhereLand," which Paramount releases in June 2009.

I can’t imagine a reason a studio would go with Brett Ratner, whom everyone hates, rather than pretty much anyone else.  That’s like looking for a plastic surgeon and choosing the guy who killed Kanye West’s mom because, hey, at least you can remember his name.  I will say this about a Ratner/Murphy partnership though – that set will probably be a great place to pick up trannies.   

At the upcoming MTV Movie Awards hosted by Mike Myers, Adam Sandler will receive their highest honor.

The "2008 MTV Movie Awards" pays tribute to Adam Sandler with the coveted "MTV Generation Award" for his amazing contribution to Hollywood and for entertaining the MTV audience for years. From generation to generation, Adam Sandler has kept fans crying with laughter since bursting onto the scene in MTV’s "Remote Control" then onto "SNL" and his early film roles and cult classics such as Billy Madison, The Wedding Singer, Big Daddy and now this summer’s eagerly anticipated You Don’t Mess with the Zohan in theaters June 6. The "MTV Generation Award" is the MTV Movie Awards’ highest honor, acknowledging an actor who has captured the attention of the MTV audience throughout their career.

Shiny objects capture the attention of the MTV audience, you don’t see them getting an award.  Everyone at MTV should have their eyes taped open and be forced to watch Click and I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry back to back while I hit them in the nuts with a shovel.

After the jump I’ve got the trailer for The Human Contract, a movie allegedly written and directed by Jada Pinkett-Smith.  It stars Paz Vega (pictured, at left) who’s hot and Spanish.  Caliente, you might even say.  Synopsis:

A successful corporate type harboring a deep, dark secret befriends a free-spirited stranger that encourages him to ditch his stuffy lifestyle and live life in reckless abandon. [via JoBlo]

It promises to be a stirring reminder of that time I showed up at your work throwing cans of Reibenbach at your head and yelling "Chug it, pussy, it’s time to ditch this dickweed convention!"  I was just trying to open your eyes and show you there’s more to life than work.  But oh no, you had to push me away.  And look at you now, just another soulless, corporate cancer doctor. 

This is the trailer for Savage Grace, a critically-acclaimed indie opening today that probably no one will see. It stars Julianne Moore and was directed by Tom Kalin, who I’ve never heard of but IMDB tells me also directed the awesome-sounding Robots of Sodom.

It’s based on the real-life murder of Barbara Daly Baekeland, wife of the heir to the Bakelite plastic fortune.  In the trailer, some dude bangs her and her son at the same time!  If that’s not sexy, then I don’t know what sexy is.
