08.21.07 RYAN REYNOLDS MAYBE PROBABLY THE FLASH
Ryan Reynolds recently talked to MTV about his often rumored casting as The Flash.
“‘The Flash’ isn’t dead at all. There’s talk of it being a JLA [Justice League of America] movie, the Justice League having them all together. And then there’s other talk of doing a ‘Flash’ movie with [director] Shawn Levy,” Reynolds told MTV. “[it] might, yeah. I don’t really know how much I’m allowed to talk about that stuff. But I’m sure they’ll figure out something. It’s no secret that they have a JLA script and it’s a project that’s in development – the contents of which, who knows.
You know, there's only so many comic book adaptations that work on the big screen, and I don't think this is one of them.
Plus, I campaigned hard for the role of The Flash. I told them, "I don't need the red suit, all I need's a trenchcoat and a boner."

Great….now, I think Reynolds is the man, but it's gonna suck with him being the GAYEST superhero on earth…..

Personally DB, I think Robin is the gayest superhero ever. The flash is a close second, followed by Aquaman.
Gah….I predict an awful movie. Reynolds is cool; he's funny and all. But I've had it with superhero movies already…
Green Lantern was pretty damned gay. And Nightcrawler.
I have a very bad feeling about this. It seems like way too many heroes, and there's likely to be way too many villains. I have no fucking idea how this is going to work, and I'd rather see Warner Bros. attempt the "Superman & Batman" movie before they try anything more ambitious. Then again, they are doing "Watchmen."
And Lance - is it just me, or are most people having trouble posting avatars here?
Can they make a "Flash" movie without making it look like the "Flash" TV show? Bad guys moving in slow motion while the Flash hits them at x2 speed for effect. I vote for the fat-version of Ryan Reynolds to be the Flash. Imagine a 300 pound guy moving the speed of sound…scary!
This is casting I can agree with. If you're a cartoon
nerdretard like me, the Justice League Flash was totally totally Ryan Reynolds. But they'll Hollywood it up and make lame "quickie sex" jokes and cast Jessica Simpson as the love interest. And Dane Cook will have magic gravity powers that slow down the Flash. Oh my god.This will only be worthwhile if he takes on the Reverse Flash (#27 on the list of gayest evil superhero names.) If you're faster than everything on the planet, there isn't a bad guy who can really stand up to you …

…alright, so it's not an improvement.
Okay, I'm like - totally, fer shur - one of the biggest JLA fans on the planet (complete runs from #6 original series til current). The problem I have with a JLA movie is several.
1) Non-comic people are gonna expect Bale & Routh in their respective roles; which leads to problem…
2) It ain't the Justice League with out the Big Three…….ARGUE ALL YOU WANT - you and I know that a JLA without Batman,Superman, & Wonder Woman is gonna be the same as the failed pilot (with better SFX).
On the other hand, it will be interesting to see what character(s) they use for Green Lantern and The Flash:
You think Star Wars are freaks? Shit you should see the DC Boards when talking about those two characters. The Flash from the TV show (Barry Allen) has been "dead" for 20 years. The Green Lantern most people know (Hal Jordan) is back but went psychopathic in the 1990's and killed a bunch of characters.
Trust me, when this hits the fan - check out the DC Boards …. they are gonna be HILARIOUS!!!!!
I used to think he was so beautiful but then I found out he was dating Alanis Morisette and now when I see photos of him, I am disgusted.
I'd still go see the movie though.
